1927
The Beginnings
A property that has remained in the same family for several centuries, where vine cultivation was not yet the main activity. Olive trees, fruits and vegetables, cereals, and vines were also cultivated here.
1947
The Winery
It was under the direction of Dr. BERENGUIER, and later his daughter Reine BERENGUIER and her husband Gaston COURTY, the owners, that the vine gradually became the main crop of the estate. The Domaine du Grand Batailler came to life.
1958
The next generation is ready
From a young age, Maurice COURTY had a love for the vine and a passion for working the land. He took over the family estate in the 1980s.
1972
Expansion of the domain
Under the leadership of Maurice COURTY, the estate was revitalized. A period of renewal and expansion lasted several years. New emblematic grape varieties of Provence, such as Tibouren, were reintroduced to the estate.
1980
White wine arrives at the domain
Provence has been a land of robust reds and quality rosés for centuries. White wines have also held an important place on the estate for a long time.
2022
The new generation
Today, Vincent COURTY, son of Maurice Courty, continues the work of his ancestors with a balance of modernity and tradition, respecting nature. Since 2022, the wines have been certified ‘High Environmental Value.’ The philosophy is to produce wines of character, combining balance and complexity.
